JAMTARA TRAIN ACCIDENT

According to the deputy commissioner, two bodies have been retrieved so far.

He added that the police, district administration team, and railway officials arrived at the scene and were transporting the injured to the hospital for medical treatment.

ANDRA TRAIN ACCIDENT

The passenger train from Visakhapatnam to Rayagada collided with the halted train from Visakhapatnam to Palasa. Among the dead were a guard from the train headed for Palasa, loco pilot S. Madhusudan Rao (53), and assistant loco pilot S. Chiranjeevi (37). The train was headed for Rayagada.

According to the investigation report, a broken signal and the previous train’s pilots’ disregard for conventional practice caused the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada train to collide with the Visakhapatnam-Palasa train from behind.

BIHAR TRAIN INCIDENT

The Bihar train disaster on October 11 in Raghunathpur left 71 people injured and at least five dead.

The superfast train carrying 23 coaches from the Anand Vihar Terminus in Delhi to Kamakhya, Assam, derailed close to Raghunathpur station in the Buxar region of Bihar.

Two top railway authorities stated that a problem in the tracks, either a rail fracture or a gap in the lines, was the reason for the derailment.
